Assignment #3

The activity that I chose to present to class is an activity that demonstrates the importance of ecosystems and wildlife for middle schoolers. It is not technologically complex but is educational and informative. Through this activity the students will learn new information concerning Botany and Environmental Science and apply common sense and learned material by taking specific steps in conserving wildlife and environment.

Teachers:
2 c customize and personalize learning activities to address student's diverse learning styles, working strategies, and abilities using digital tools and resources.
1 a promote, support, and model creative and innovative thinking and inventiveness
1 b engage students in exploring real world issues and solving authentic problems using digital tools and resources.
Students:
1 c use models and simulations to explore complex systems and issues.

this is a great activity to do with students, using smartboard will help the teacher address student's different learning styles. in addition, by completing this activity the students will use technology to learn of world issues such as endangered species and the importance of environment. They will also have the opportunity to help solve ecological problems and issues.

SmartBoards are very useful in classroom setting. I think they are great because they give variety to teachers' instruction and unlike individual computers, they allow the class to participate in computer based activities as a whole. Also because it is something different, cool and technological, I think students will be more willing to participate in the activities and when students participate they learn more and better.
