SmartBoard after class reflection
I think that Smart Boards are great to use in class, however, yesterday during our presentations I realized some negative features about it and think it’s important to keep them in mind when we are using smart Board. First of all I think it is great that we can adjust the height of the board because when we use it in elementary grades it is important for kids to be able to reach it and interact with it. Secondly, some of the negatives features that I noticed were: often we had a hard time dragging certain items, I wonder if it would be even harder for kids and if this process would hinder learning and the classroom’s attention span?.. also, it is important to always stand on a side and not in front of the board, because not only the class is not able to see what you are doing but also sometimes when you stand in front of projector, the projector is not able to project unto the board and thus deters the teaching/learning process. I also think we should pay careful attention to the activities we use in class. There are many activities that do not work well in specific class settings. For example, some of them are really short and would not give all the students an opportunity to participate in the activity. Others are a little dry, repetitive and need improvement. And finally some of the activities have very small font and need classroom adjustment in order to complete the activity....
